The Salisbury Office

The Salisbury Office is a start-up co-working space providing a flexible workspace hub for diverse businesses. Working with the clients under the ethos of "work from home from here" to provide accessible, quality soundproofed office pods where people could drop in to be collaborate and focus. With a shift to working from home The Salisbury Office avoids lengthy commutes to central HQ's perhaps in London for those who perhaps don't thrive working in their home.

We worked collaboratively with the client throughout to balance quality, efficiency and comfort. Recognising the scientific link between biophilia and improved focus and efficiency in work spaces and education, we introduced biophilic design elements such as natural timber desks, planting, artwork and cork finishes to boost wellbeing.

 

The nine pods are individually styled to ensure a range of users can find a space to suit their tastes, with some integrating the layers of the buildings history such as brickwork, doorways and floor ties to add interest and informality over perfection.​ The desks are free-standing to allow the pod spaces to support a range of needs that users can make their own, from focused work to client and team meetings or tutoring. We chose homely touches throughout such as partially glazed doors in a homely style over contemporary fully glazed partitions.
